Statistics of Velocity Structure in the Los Angeles Area

Research Objectives:

• Analyze 38 sonic logs collected in Los Angeles basin
• Estimate parameters necessary to model small-scale heterogeneities
• Model heterogeneities using von Karman autocorrelation functions
• Perform sensitivity tests of statistical models using AWP-ODC wave propagation code. (Cui et al., 2010)
